Bandana Blues We are also re-dedicating ourselves to turning you on to deserving bands. Bands that I've discovered through my travels for Blueswax that will kick your collective Asses. This year that band is The Matthew Stubbs Band. While walking up Beale Street with photographer Jen Taylor during The International Blues Challenge last January, I heard music blasting out of B.B. King's Club (all the clubs blast either canned music OR the band playing inside) and said to Jen, "Hold on, I don't think I've ever heard this CD. It's Roomful of Blues with Michelle Willson, isn't it??" WRONG! We headed inside and saw The Matthew Stubbs Band tear the place a new one! The incredibly energetic and talented Kit Holliday putting the band through its paces. WOW! Come see this band at an intimate setting before they go national.
